More on the Divine Light Invocation
December 11, 2007“What is imagination? Imagination is a powerful force of the mind, a faculty shaping every aspect of our lives, helping to determine the kind of people that we are, whether we are to be creative, neurotic, lazy or energetic. Daydreaming is just one use of the faculty of imagination, often a rather negative and undisciplined one serving our frustrations and fantasies. By directing our daydreaming we can increase our creativity and begin to realize our true potential as human beings.”
From the Divine Light Invocation by Swami Sivananda Radha (pg 31)
I was introduced to the Divine Light Invocation about 6 years ago when my friend Mable prayed with this Invocation a number of times. I found it a beautiful, strengthening prayer. It gave me both goosebumps and a profound sense of peace. I simply had to inquire of it. From then on, I have worked with this Invocation myself.
Radha was Mable’s teacher for many years…Mable has some lovely stories to tell of Radha. I enjoy hearing them and it gives me to know exactly what a splendid and wise teacher Radha truly was. Eventually Mable lent me precious signed copies of Radha’s books. I enjoyed them very much and this year I treated myself to her book The Divine Light Invocation.
I have been enjoying slowly re-reading this little book. I found this passage on Imagination to be wonderful…it backs up what I’ve learned of magick and from what I’ve heard reiterated in books such as Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain about the power of imagination and visualization.
It also backs up what I’ve read from countless sources and noticed from personal experience that wool gathering is a power leak…a waste of time and energy. Focusing that magickal magnifying mind on goals and visualizing their successful outcomes is so much more effective.
Wishing….sometimes that’s something that just flows from the soul as if it were a need. Sometimes you simply can’t have those things you yearn for.
I think I am at an impasse about this particular application of the power of that invocation…not to mention the power of my pipe.
Sometimes the answer is no.
So…I’m working on trying to bring another wish into my being….or at least to bring forward the aspects of the original wish that pertain only to me.
And not linger in day dreaming and wool gathering about stuff I can’t have….without stuffing away the beautiful energy that is flowing out toward what I love and cannot have.
Now there’s a tight rope….

Disney put it “A dream is a wish your heart makes”.
He built an empire on a mouse.
Me, I am building on sand. Everything I try to do gets knocked down. I just need to find a grant writer in the Lewiston/Auburn area and I can get my business started.
I have been day dreaming about it, but I have NOT been wool gathering. I have just hit an impasse, for now.
Well, back to the search.
Hi Chuck. It can be very difficult to start a business in Maine. We are a finicky bunch of customers. We can be incredibly cheap minded and then again when we fall in love with something we’ll be willing to pay for it.
I send you prosperous thoughts and wishes for a smooth way.
Yup…that’s a tight rope.
Kind of like walking the tango….
Hey there sweety. ((hugs))
